We regret to inform that due to unforeseen circumstances, the 2nd Young Materials Scientists and Engineers Conference – YMSE 2024, originally scheduled to take place on May 13th to May 15th, is post postponed to a date to be determined.

The conference is addressed to all young researchers (PhD Students, post-docs, research fellows, young industial researchers or other junior researchers) who carry out their work in the field of materials and surface science and engineering.

The conference is intended as an opportunity for networking, discussion and direct confrontation between young researchers, with the final aim of sharing research activity and promoting national and international collaboration between research groups.

Research topics to be presented during the conference should address any topic concerning material science and surface engineering.

In particular, but not exclusively:

  1. Coating technologies;
  2. Composite and matrix materials;
  3. Nano-, Bio-, Hybrid and Hierarchical composites;
  4. Fibers and textiles;
  5. Advanced manufacturing processes;
  6. Advanced characterization techniques;
  7. Testing and modeling of material behavior;
  8. Sustainable design, circular chemistry and life cycle assessment of material;
  9. Materials for renewable energy;
  10. Materials for harsh environments;
  11. Thermal processing of materials;
  12. Industrial applications of materials.
Rome
  • The conference consists of three days.
  • Each specific session is opened by an invited presentation of a young researcher.
  • Each oral presentation will be 15 minutes plus 5 minutes for questions.
  • Posters will be mounted on the first day of the conference.
  • A poster session is scheduled, but posters will stay available on cloister corridors for all the conference duration.

  • Opening of abstract submission: December 1st, 2023
  • Deadline for abstract submission: April 10th, 2024
  • Opening of registration: December 15th, 2023
  • Deadline for early registration: March 31th, 2024
  • Deadline for registration: April 24th, 2024

 

Conference will be held on May 13 – 15 May 2024.

Earlybird registration fee (up to February29th 2024 included): €250

Registration fee after February 29th 2024: €300

Fee includes registration to conference, welcome cocktail, everyday lunch and social dinner.

Travel Information:

YMSE2024 will be held in the School of Civil and Industrial Engineering of “Sapienza” University of Rome, located in Via Eudossiana 18 (Rome).

The conference location is 15 minutes walking from Roma Termini Train Station and 300mt away from Metro line B Colosseum station.
